I found this birdcage at a garage sale last week. It was poorly painted and a little beat up. I snagged it for $10, got home and googled bird cages. The same exact model was on sale for $119.95. Score!
After a some light sanding on the some of the roughly painted or peeling areas, I sprayed it with a few coats of black spray paint. After that dried, I misted a light coat of Rustoleum hammered finish. The color is a sort of bronze. I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the color yet. I'll live with it a few days. Maybe I should have used ORB.
Please ignore the weeds in the background. I was cleaning out the flower bed when this birdcage called to me that it wanted to be painted...now. I have some ideas of what I want to put inside this baby. But that will have to be a later post.
OMG!!! Are you kidding me? Why can't I find stuff like this at garage sales or the thrift stores. I am so jealous! This is amazing!
