Antique Cupboard - The Taming of the Beast

Raise your hand if you have half a dozen or so unfinished projects going.  I'm raising both my hands here and would raise a third if I had one.  A third hand would really come in handy on a lot of projects don'tcha know!  I think Van Gogh wished for an extra one too.

I've been reviewing my blog the past couple of weeks, after participating in "What I Like About Your Blog." at Inspire Me Heather.

It was very helpful, and while both bloggers who critiqued my blog were very kind with their comments, they also pointed out a few things that could make it better.  I really appreciated their assessment and insight.  Sometimes you need another pair of eyes to see something you are missing.  Based on one of their comments, I changed my header to better reflect what my blog is about.  I also cleaned up my sidebar a bit.

While reviewing my blog I realized something.  In a couple of instances, I've blogged about a project and then for one reason or another I never showed you the finished product (or I haven't finished it yet).

Anybody remember the Beast?  I blogged about it here and here almost two years ago.  I named it The Beast, because it was a beast to strip the paint off of.  It nearly did me in.

Before

Part of the reason I haven't showed you is because I wasn't sure if it was finished.  I thought I might glaze it, or paint a design on it.

Before

And so I just never showed you.

Before

But I like it the way it is, so it is finished...for now.

And I didn't use it as I originally intended for a TV stand, because someone gave us another entertainment center.

So now it holds our scrapbooks, and my gardening books.

Yes our memories are literally in...the belly of The Beast.

I've linked to some fabulous parties. Go check them out for tons of ideas!

  8. Wow! It looks great, and I bet the storage is incredible. Isn't it ironic how with all the "new & improved" space saving ideas, the old things always seem best?
