Craft Room Update : The Floor Is Done!

If you missed previous craft room updates, the links to all are at the bottom of this post.

Before I show you my floor, I'd like to thank three ladies for featuring  a couple of my projects.  Thank you Karen, aka Good Time Charlie, at Redoux and Betsy at Romance on a Dime for featuring my Galvanized Tins.  Also thank you to Craft Gossip for featuring my Subway Cross.  I still get giddy every time someone features something I made!!

Sorry I've gone missing for a couple of weeks.  A lot has been going on, but not much to blog about.  Hubby has been on and off work the past few weeks.  He was back the last two weeks, thus finishing of the wall framing in the craft room has been delayed.

I could do it if it weren't for this darn shoulder.  My MRI is scheduled for the 10th and I return to the doctor on the 16th.  Thank you to all who have sent me sweet messages asking how I am doing.  I've learned to work around it for most things, and can still do a lot with my right arm, just no reaching out to the side or very far above my head.

In the meantime, the garden took priority for a bit.  I wanted to move our raspberry patch out of the garden and into it's own patch.  With hubby's help we accomplished that.  This picture only shows two rows.  We've since added a third row.

I also planted a LOT of these cups with seeds.  Our last frost isn't until end of May, so we have to get a head start indoors.  I did plant some snow peas outside yesterday. and harvested some green onions from last year.

Between all of that, my doctor and therapy appointments, as well as spending a weekend downstate to pack up Jamie and bring her home from college, not much progress has been made on the craft room.  I did finish painting the floor today though.  I really like the way it turned out.  I was going for an aged, worn look.

There will be cupboards and work areas lining all three walls.  I plan to frame in that pipe and perhaps make it look like a column.

I still have a long way to go, but it's looking more and more the way I want it to.  I'm hoping hubby can help me add beadboard to the stair side of the long wall in the next day or two...and maybe get the framing finished too.  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

  1. What a lovely garden and floor! I hope your shoulder is feeling better soon.

I have had a lot of trouble with my shoulders since I was 15,(among other things) so I know how hard it is when you can't use one much.

  25. In the construction field since I was 10 I have had drummed into me to figure every square inch out before you do anything, so most of my stories are about those who did not.
