Repurposed Playhouse into...Guess What!

Time is flying by and I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've posted.  We had a wonderful time with our daughter while she was home.  She and I did some thrift shopping together, and we all went to Mackinac Island for a day.  We took our bikes and rode a lot!  I was completely wiped out at the end of the day.

We toured the fort and several historic buildings, then followed a map route of the island's highlights on bike.  Finally we did a little shopping before taking the last ferry back to the mainland.  Then we had a 2 1/2 hour car ride back home!  We all slept in the next day.

My craft room has been at a standstill.  Ken spent a couple of weeks recovering from his heart attack (mild one), then we had catching up to do around here, and with Jamie only home for a month I didn't spend time working on projects.  Ken started wiring the craft room Friday.  As soon as that is finished I can get started building the cabinets.  I can't wait!

I did get a big project done last week.  We were given this old playhouse to use as a shed.  It was sturdy, but in sad shape.  The walls are OSB board, which has to be kept painted.  I scraped off a lot of loose stuff and started priming and painting.  I had the top and trim painted white before I remembered to take pictures.  Here is the before (after the white was already done).

And here is the after:

I'll give you three guesses what it is going to be used for ;)

  9. this is so much a memory lane article for me. we actually turned large chicken coop(house) into a clubhouse many many years ago. we were armed with grandparents old red and navy blue handkerchiefs and lots of bleach and scrub brushes and when Mom realized we were serious and had put so much work into it out came to fabric stash and some cute curtains etc were made. that got to be a learning experience also. Thank you for the memories!!! My mother was the best and all the other kids congregated at our house because she let us do this sort of thing and blankets with clothespins fastened to the clothesline for extensions to the city in the back yard. For some reason we needed to expand beyond the chicken house.
