Pinterest Inspired Monday - Muffin Tin Storage

Vintage Muffin Pan Bead Tray

Long ago and far away, I pinned many pins.  Actually, I've only been on Pinterest about a year.  In that time I've managed to pin, oh...5138 pins and counting.  Ahem...My name is Deborah, and I am addicted to Pinterest.

Before you drag me off to PPA (Pinterest Pinheads Anonymous), in all fairness, I have used many of my pins to inspire, design and sometimes downright copy (for personal use only).  So in the interest of redeeming some of that time spent on Pinterest,  I am making an effort to create or make one Pinterest inspired something a week, be it a craft, a storage idea or even a few recipes.  Most weeks it will be something quick and easy, cause' I've already got a lot of irons in the fire!

So...I've decided Monday's will be Pinterest Project Monday.  Today's Pinterest Project is a complete copy.  I needed something to hold the beads I'm using while working on a piece of jewelry.

I could have just used an old egg carton, but where's the fun in that?  So when I saw this old muffin tin used for buttons, I said, "Eureka!"  Ok, not really...who ever says that?  But the light bulb did go on.

I have a vintage muffin tin, and I dare say mine is even cooler!  No slight intended to our button filled friend here.

What would you do with a vintage muffin tin?

Have you copied any great pins lately?

This is a great idea and I love your blog. I have to admit that I have a thing for Pinterest as well...it actually was the catalyst to blogging for me. Can't wait to see what you do every Monday.

  2. Eureka! That muffin tin is beautiful. I love to hang them on the wall, use them when crafting, and oh, yeah, every now and then I will use one for baking. I went through several of my Pinterest boards last night looking for some inspiration. Sometimes it is surprising what you pin in a moment of weakness!

  3. I wish I had room in my craft/sewing room to utilize tins like this, Deborah. Some of them are so pretty looking on their own. I wind up using old lidded candle jars for mine, which still allows me to see what is in them.

  4. I love this! A few years ago I bought a huge stack of old mini-muffin tins, and they are the perfect thing for organizing my "active work" (that's my geeky term for the beads I'm in love with at the moment" as well as my earrings that are listed on my Etsy page. Your tins are so much more beautiful, though!

  8. What a beautiful muffin tin you have there. It's really a beauty. I use mine to store all my different colored buttons, but mine is also not as pretty as yours.

  10. I, too, use an old muffin tin. I've done an autumn collection arrangement of seed, berries, cones, etc with a tiny turkey and little battery candles. I also have just filled them with the battery lights and other seasonal items. It looks lovely on a coffee table. Mine is very rusty, but I like it that way.

  11. first time visit to your blog, I came from UTTAD and your muffing tin caught my eye. When I try to explain why I haunt thrift stores, your tin represents the perfect example- can you believe how beautiful this utilitarian piece is? The quality of materials and the workmanship in so many old pieces is unbelievable and many older pieces still are useful, if you care to use them. I would snatch that tin up in a heartbeat if I ever am lucky to find one.

  13. Love it Deborah and guess what? I'm pinning! lol! I only joined Pinterest recently. Tried to resist because I didn't want to spend more time on the computer. Really only pin when visiting blog buddies so not much more time is taken. Sounds like a good excuse any way. Hee-hee! You bet I'll be copying when my craft room is done. Then I'll hop over and link up. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann
