I can't tell you how many items of clothing that have been ruined around here, because I thought I had a grease stain out, but when it came out of the dryer, there it was. Rats! So when I saw this tip on pinterest, I thought, what's to lose?
The site recommended 20 minutes, but I found it took longer. Now, I just lay the article of clothing on top of the washer and let it sit overnight for good measure. It has taken out every grease stain I've had so far (I have not tried it on automotive grease, just food grease).
I keep a small container of cornmeal right on my laundry shelf...so much handier than traipsing to the kitchen and rummaging through the pantry. It also avoids those strange looks on my family's faces when they ask me what I'm doing (while rummaging through the pantry...no doubt hoping I am baking cookies), and I reply, "laundry." Silly people! Don't they know the best cleaners are in the pantry?
Keep pinning and have a great day!
Just sprinkle a small pile of cornmeal on the greasy spot and let it sit.

Thanks for this tip. My daughter had a chair that a greasy product had spilled on. She never did get that out. I wish we had known about this.
