Baby Gifts Trio

My daughter and I attended the baby shower for one of my nieces this past weekend. Having bought several lengths of flannel and a pretty box during sales at JoAnn's this past year, I decided to fill up the box with some handmade goodies.

I fell in love with these boxes last summer at JoAnn's and bought this one on clearance at the end of summer.  I wish I'd bought all they had!

Love the polka dot inside and it makes it a great storage container for the baby's room! I also tucked a little board book inside after I took these pictures. The mom-to-be asked for signed books instead of cards, which I think is such a great idea.

First I made this blanket, which is really easy to make. I just sewed two pieces of flannel (42 inches square) together by placing right sides together, leaving an opening for turning, then hand sewed the opening shut. After that I used a wide zigzag stitch around the edges, using bright pink thread on top and green in the bobbin.

I had more of the green fabric and just a scrap of the pink, so I made this bib and used the scraps of pink to edge it and make a little rosette to cover the spot that I sewed a circular velcro dot. I found the bib pattern at Darling Dexter, but just used the outline of the pattern rather than piece it like it is shown.

The owl diaper cover is the same style that I crocheted for another niece on my side of the family last year.

I had so much fun making these for my sweet niece.  Much more fun than if I'd spent time in a crowded store trying to find the perfect gift! Congratulations Breann and Eric!  Can't wait to meet your sweet baby girl!!

  8. In order to take the best care of your child with the least amount of time investment or hassle you are going to need the best compact baby swing. This is going to fit anywhere you need it to and it is going to help you a lot with all the childcare throughout the baby’s infancy and with some swings even beyond that age.

  11. f you would like to ride during a golf cart on your rounds, then the load doesn't matter. But if you would like to hold it yourself, then it is sensible to hold a lighter bag.
