What We Accomplished Wednesday #53

Want to be a pin-up girl? Join the party, and if you are featured, I'll pin your project to my Green Willow Pond Features Board!
Want to be a pin-up girl? Join the party, and if you are featured, I'll pin your project to my Green Willow Pond Features Board!

The sun is shining!  It is still only 45 degrees with a high of 50 predicted, but I'll take it as long as the sun is shining...and it is supposed to all day. If I seem abnormally excited, well I am, after days and days of cold, wet, gloomy days.

My parents arrived home from Florida late last night. I worked last night, so I haven't seen them yet (as of this morning). Can't wait to get over there later today! Say a prayer for them would you? While on their way home, their van was broken into at a motel. The back windows were smashed in and the crooks took their time taking lots of valuable things. They are both okay (it happened while they were safe sleeping in their room), but now they have to deal with insurance claims and police reports.

If you missed it, I posted about my drop cloth flowers I've been making. I love wearing one on my jean jacket.

Thank you all for your lovely linkups last week! I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you. You make this party special.

This weeks features start with this gorgeous vanity, painted by Mary at Orphans With Makeup.  I love every little detail about this piece!

Kristi, from Making it in the Mountains, created this gallery wall to help disguise an awkward bump out. Now it looks like it was made for this purpose!

We've all seen these old boxy style chairs, but who would have guessed they could turn into something so shabby chic?  Biljana Shabby did and what a beautiful job she did!

The tradition of surprising neighbors with May Day baskets is something my family never did. In fact I've not heard of many around here that do this.  But what a delightful tradition. Wouldn't you love to recieve a basket of flowers this beautiful on your door? Patti, from Old Things New shares her basket and story.

Want to give a sweet, inexpensive, but impressive hostess gift? Eliza Ellis shares how she turned a whoops moment, into these delightful wrapped gifts.

I will be the first to admit that the art of cake decorating completely escapes me. But I think, maybe, just maybe I could do this. Kat, from Homemade Interest shows how easy it is to create these petals with balls of frosting. The cake sounds absolutely delicious too!

Now it's your turn.  Show us what you've accomplished.  Can't wait to see what you've been up to!

The Simple and Easy Rules

1. Only projects you have made/accomplished pretty please. Items for sale are okay, as long as they are in tutorial form, and linked to your blog post.  No links to shops or Etsy stores, or round-up posts of others projects please.  Link up to 3 posts - please link posts new to this party.

2. Linking back to the party (text or button) within your post is very much appreciated . You can grab a button from the side bar if you like.

3. By linking up here, you are giving me permission to feature you here, on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and/or Pinterest.  I'll only use 1-2 pictures from your post and link back to you. Then people will be flocking to your blog to read all about it!!  Spreadin' the love around baby!
Most importantly, go visit some of the links because otherwise it wouldn't be a party would it?

I am no longer automatically adding you to my email list to send out reminders about the party. If you want a reminder each week, just use the little sign up form below. You will only be signing up for party notifications. I will not use this list for anything else, nor will I ever share it with anyone. ever. period.

  6. I'm glad they are okay, way too scary! That is one of the many reasons why I stay at campgrounds and sleep in my van while traveling. Camping people are pretty nice and usually no one that doesn't belong there comes around. Thanks for hosting!

We're supposed to get to 79 and 81 here in the next day or so for two days. That just might be a little warm....but on the other hand....it sounds wonderful after this wicked winter. Hope some of that warmth comes up by you too!!

Enjoy your time with your parents!

  10. Good evening, Deborah. That's too bad about your parent's car. :( Having to deal with insurance doesn't sound like my idea of fun. I hope nothing irreplaceable was taken.
