Last week I had a double treat. I got to go stay with my daughter in Kalamazoo for a couple days. The trip wasn't entirely for pleasure as I needed to be the driver and caretaker for her after a medicial procedure that required mild anesthesia. She was perfectly fine afterwards except for the forgetfulness and slight drowsiness that comes with it, which proved pretty funny at times!
After a brief rest at home, she and I were able to go out (me driving) and do a little shopping. I fixed her and her roommate some home cooked meals, we watched a couple movies and just got to visit. Thursday she went to work and I headed north to Plainville, MI, where I met (for the first time in person) Diane, from An Extraordinary Day. What a delightful time that was. We met for brunch at a local restaurant.
Diane is just as warmhearted and genuine in person as she is on her blog. We had a wonderful time sharing and getting to know each other better. If you haven't visited An Extraordinary Day yet, you are in for a treat. Diane is amazingly creative, often with things found in nature or otherwise almost free. She also features Joy Day each Sunday, which is very uplifting and always has an encouraging message. If you are a prayer warrior, keep her and her husband Tim lifted in prayer, as he continues to search for the ministry position that God has for him.
Before we left the restaurant, Diane gave me a sweet gift containing this beautiful little plate and a very special bar of soap.
This soap has a story. Profits from sales are used help to provide training, education and medical services for children at risk for sex-trafficking. You can read about it's mission here. What a wonderful way to help keep some of these children from being abused.
Hope your week is blessed! Come back tomorrow evening the for What We Accomplished Wednesday party!

I am glad your daughter is doing okay and it sounds like the surgery was not too serious.
