What We Accomplished Wednesday #68

Want to be a pin-up girl? Join the party, and if you are featured, I'll pin your project to my Green Willow Pond Features Board!

These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of getting ready for a craft show and now getting ready for Christmas. Never again will I attempt to cram in a craft show in December without being completely ready for it way in advance! I was disappointed in the show as there was very little traffic. The only reason I did it was that it was only an hour away from my daughter and I got to see her for the weekend.

I did, however, learn a lot about what I will and won't do at craft shows in the future. I've decided that it is better for me to go big or go home! It is just too much work to not have the traffic that brings sales. I did have lots of wonderful feedback on my booth, so that felt good.

During all the chaos I did a quick guest post for An Extraordinary Day, and completely forgot to mention it here on my blog, so be sure to head over to Diane's blog and catch that post. If you've not met Diane yet, you are in for a treat. She is a true sweetheart and daughter of the King!

I always appreciate all the projects you link up, and feel so blessed to have you here. This week you really knocked my socks off with all your creativity and sharing. I had such a tough time choosing, that I had to throw in a couple of extra features for a total of twelve this week!  Consider it the twelve days of Christmas even though there are only nine left...yikes!

I am swooning over these shutters and this whole Christmas vignette by Diana, from Dreams Factory. She shows how to use them in multiple ways. These I've got to make!

I'm also crushing on this Christmas guest room by Karen, of Karen's up on the Hill. Those pillow shams are so gorgeous, and don't even get me started on that duvet cover!

Check out this sweet miniature vignette that Cindy, from DIY Beautify, created. Love the truck with the tree tied on top!

Brooke, from Creative Country Mom, takes us on a tour of her home decorated for Christmas. There are tons of pretty ideas!

This is the most wonderful sign of the year! Excuse the pun, but I really do love this PB knock-off sign that Mindi, from My Love 2 Create, painted.

Aren't plaids just so cozy and perfect for Christmas? What a pretty little corner to sit and sip a cup of hot cocoa, wrapped up in a cozy plaid blanket. Check it out at Southern Seazons.

Red and white checks are also perfect at Christmas time. Love this pretty bedroom by Patty, at That's So Pretty, shared.

What do you do with old singer sewing machine tables? Stephanie, at Mommyzoid, used the iron legs and an old plank to create a desk! How cool is that?

I love the simple beauty of this wreath made by Mallori, at Vintage Finds. Classic red and green with a burlap bow.  Simply perfect!

Have a old stained sweater? Don't throw it out!  Look at this sweet ornament made by Tricia, at Upcycled Stuff. How cute is that?

In honor of all that holiday baking that I know is going on in many of your homes, I've featured two candy recipes that I know I have to try this year! Mouth watering here.

I can't wait to sink my teeth into Cranberry Nut Pretzel Bark! Melissa, from How Does Your Garden Grow, shares the very simple recipe.

And last, but certainly not least, these Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels are calling my name! You can find the recipe at Lou Lou Girls.

Now it's your turn.  Show us what you've accomplished.  Can't wait to see what you've been up to!

The Simple and Easy Rules

1. Only projects you have made/accomplished pretty please. This means no round up of others projects, give-aways, reviews of products, etc. Items for sale are okay, as long as they are in tutorial form, and linked to your blog post.  No links to shops or Etsy stores, or round-up posts of others projects please.  Link up to 3 posts - please link posts new to this party.

2. Linking back to the party (text or button) within your post is very much appreciated . You can grab a button from the side bar if you like.

3. By linking up here, you are giving me permission to feature you here, on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and/or Pinterest.  I'll only use 1-2 pictures from your post and link back to you. Then people will be flocking to your blog to read all about it!!  Spreadin' the love around baby!
Most importantly, go visit some of the links because otherwise it wouldn't be a party would it?

I am no longer automatically adding you to my email list to send out reminders about the party. If you want a reminder each week, just use the little sign up form below. You will only be signing up for party notifications. I will not use this list for anything else, nor will I ever share it with anyone. ever. period.

  1. Deborah, I am so bummed that your craft show was a bust. :( I would have thought that given the time of year, it would have been crazy busy. That's the weekend I used to have my open house which always went well.

Hope you find time for quiet and reflection and beauty midst all the hustle and bustle. [hugs]

  4. Hi Deborah, Wonderful features your share today. Sorry to hear about the show. I've been in that place myself and it is a lot of work if the traffic is not there. But so good you got to see your daughter close by.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and many blessings going into the new year.
    Hugs

  5. There are some really great features here today, Deborah. Too bad about the show. That is so disappointing when you go to all the work and trouble and then have a poor turnout. I have had that happen in the past, too.

Thanks for all the features- I have to check some of them out. xo Diana

  6. Thanks for hosting another fabulous party! Sorry your craft show wasn't a success. I love going to craft shows and was quite disappointed at the selections at the two very large ones I attended recently. The shows boasted "recycle crafts" but I had a hard time figuring out what was being recycled. Years ago I participated in craft fairs where the goods were professionally handcrafted, impressive and not very expensive. Today, the quality is just not there with unreasonable price tags and perhaps people are staying away for that reason. Who knows! It could also be a cyclical thing - one day they're in and the next, they're out.

  13. So sorry to hear your craft show didn't go as you expected. I used to do craft shows and found that they are really hit or miss. The same show, same time of year, same place can be really great or a complete bust. You just never know. Thank you for hosting and hope you recoup from your show and enjoy your week. Cathy
