What We Accomplished Wednesday #56

Want to be a pin-up girl? Join the party, and if you are featured, I'll pin your project to my Green Willow Pond Features Board!

First I want to thank all our wonderful military personel and veterans and their families for the selfless sacrifice they have made to serve and protect our country.  You are truly the spirit of America. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It's time to party!  May and June are just naturally party months aren't they?  Between graduations, Memorial Day, Mother's Day, baby and wedding showers it is a little crazy sometimes.

I hope your weekend was full of fun, family and laughter!  This past weekend, our daughter was home for a quick visit. We had a busy day on Sunday trying to pack everything in that we wanted to do.  After church we went out to lunch at a local Chinese buffet we love called Hunan's.  After returning home and vegging for a short while, we went for a walk in the woods on local trail.

Notice the lack of leaves on the trees.  This was taken this past Sunday.  Never in my memory have the leaves been so late in the year.

We are such a serious family.  Can you tell?

Here's a serious one for ya.  I look like I swallowed a sour lemon!

I love flowers so I snapped a couple of photos of these pretty woodland flowers.  This first one is a Trillium.  The woods are full of them this spring.

This second one I can't identify, but I love the little pink flowers.  The smaller leaves are the ones the flowers belong to.  Anyone care to enlighten me as to what they are called?

Here's a close-up.

Later in the evening we had our parents over for a bonfire.  Of course, we had our first smore's of the season, along with some yummy watermelon.  It was all over too quickly as we had to take Jamie back over to Gaylord to meet her ride the next morning.  We met with friends for lunch there, said our goodbye's and headed back home.

It's time to share the features from last week. As the party has grown, and I am juggling family, a part-time job, a business and home responsibilities, it has become hard for me to comment on all of your wonderful link-ups.  I do however visit every one of them and so appreciate your sharing here at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.  You inspire me each and every week!

I am loving these ruffled curtains made by Teresa, at Magazine Your Home.  They are similar to my dropcloth curtains,  but in a light and airy muslin.  Perfect for summer!

Cindy, from Glass Slipper Restorations, transformed an old bench with paint and stencils.  What a pretty place to sit and take off your shoes!

Isn't this stepped table with all the mini drawers adorable?  I love the colors that Cathy, from Vintage, Paint and More chose to use on this and another little end table that you will have to visit her to see!

Think built-in bookcases are beyond your capabilities?  Think again!  Kat, from Homemade Interest, shares just how they got this look with Billy bookcases from Ikea.  Amazing!

Oh to be a kid again and have a tree house like this!  I want one myself!!  Wouldn't it be fun to decorate?  Summer, from Outdoor Kid, takes you on a tour of this awesome structure her family built together.

Can you say yum?  Peanut butter, chocolate and Rice Crispies.  How can you go wrong?  Head over to Kreativ-77, and let Alix tell you how to make them.

Now it's your turn.  Show us what you've accomplished.  Can't wait to see what you've been up to!

The Simple and Easy Rules

1. Only projects you have made/accomplished pretty please. This means no round up of others projects, give aways etc. Items for sale are okay, as long as they are in tutorial form, and linked to your blog post.  No links to shops or Etsy stores, or round-up posts of others projects please.  Link up to 3 posts - please link posts new to this party.

2. Linking back to the party (text or button) within your post is very much appreciated . You can grab a button from the side bar if you like.

3. By linking up here, you are giving me permission to feature you here, on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and/or Pinterest.  I'll only use 1-2 pictures from your post and link back to you. Then people will be flocking to your blog to read all about it!!  Spreadin' the love around baby!
Most importantly, go visit some of the links because otherwise it wouldn't be a party would it?

I am no longer automatically adding you to my email list to send out reminders about the party. If you want a reminder each week, just use the little sign up form below. You will only be signing up for party notifications. I will not use this list for anything else, nor will I ever share it with anyone. ever. period.

  7. People have been so worried about their plants as some still haven't come out of dormancy, I've been trying to reassure them that with the hard winter this past year that they are just slow to come back. Thank you for a great party!

  15. I like your post about how you spent the holiday with your family, Debbie. Your photos are great!!
I bet it felt good to take a break from the busy schedule you are on, and just relax with your hubby, and the kids. I have a feeling we will have a very short summer season up here...so enjoy all the beauty while we can, right?!
    Hugs to you, dear friend.

  16. Deborah...have you discovered what that unusual wildflower is? It is gorgeous and I have never seen anything like it.
Thanks for sharing a little bit of your family life on the blog. What a beautiful family and I love goofy faces. It's a rare day for me to take a good candid photo, so your not-so-smiling face....I so identify with that. :)
Years ago when I went to Russia...the thing I noticed there was that their summer was really condensed. Early summer and late summer flowers were all blooming at the same time. I'm thinking you're going to have some of that too. I hope you have a great growing season.

    Blessings!
